Pivot Happens

the plucky lil podcast that could. . .

Universal Pivots, Intentional Pivots, PIVOTal Stories, and all the Unprofessional Armchair Psychology You Can Handle

Life rarely follows our plans. . .

We hope you know this, but if you don’t - take heart! We have stories, our own and other’s, about why this may not be a bad thing. Like the song goes, you may not get what you want but, and we thoroughly believe this, you get what you need.

We believe in being led. You can call the leader what/whomever you want, but when you get out of your own way, magic can happen. Hard, intense, messy, deep, at times soul wrenching, magic.

Was it worth it?

Listen and find out.

Who even are we?

We’re two people who have pivoted more times than we can probably recall, both intentionally and at the behest of the Universe. We’re writers, have day jobs, have families, and we acknowledge that there are a lot of people who would always say to take the safe path, the road more traveled, and we respectfully say nah, no thanks. We also know that they are the type that the Universe often chooses to use a cosmic 2×4 to smack that notion right out of them. We don’t make the rules. We just tell the stories.

Anne Kingston is a historical romance novelist and former archaeologist.

Von denMeer is a writer who has been through the pivot wringer. She spent a lot of time trying to tell the Universe what to do and it did not work out very well. For either of them. She has a keen interest in trauma recovery and even trained as a peer-to-peer recovery coach - a sort of travel guide for the healing journey. She is actively working on getting a novel published that deals with these themes. She wants everyone to get healed so we can stop fucking shit up. Come on!
